seminar aims

More Filipinos are becoming familiarized with digital photography, advocacy-work or the publication of ideas through photos and the internet. As technology improves, more tools are made available to the public to aid them in their pursuit of information, entertainment, satisfaction and even solutions to social problems. Web logs or blogs, online journals, video blogs, personal/organizational web sites, community publications and mass organizations are just some of the still emerging alternative communication and advocacy mediums. However, there exist many limitations on the access to information, media and the technical capabilities for expression. For instance, a concept reaches only a limited number of people just because many communication tools remain untapped or certain required skills are yet unharnessed by the concerned individuals. This seminar on photojournalism and alternative media aims to bridge gaps, introduce new concepts and develop needed skills among seminar participants.
